14UAA Head Coach
The Lady Ducks are so fortunate to have one of our top development coaches and former Chinese Olympian, Coach Vicky, in the LD program. Vicky has coached 8u thru 16AAA and will step in to Heac the National-bound 14AA team this season. She is excited to be working with this age group again. Also as our ADM 10u coordinator and 10A team head coach, Vicky will bring player development at this level with a focus on 12AAA readiness.
Vicky came onto the scene as a key defenseman for Team China, battling Team USA’s Cammi Granato in front of the net on many occasions. Vicky began with the Lady Ducks in the early 2000s after retiring from Team China in 2001, after the World Championships and moving to California. Vicky has been an integral part of our player development since 2002 including as an assistant coach on the National Championship 12AAA Lady Ducks team. Vicky took a hiatus after marrying her husband, Juan and starting a family. With her 30+ years in hockey Vicky will once again raise the bar at the both 14aa and 10u age levels, bringing strong training and development of fundamentals in order to create an environment where players learn to push themselves.
In her free time, Coach Vicky, Juan and 6-year old JJ enjoy travelling around the world learning about new places, people, culture and food! Fun Fact: the entire family is trilingual and speaks English, Chinese and Spanish.
12UAA Head Coach
We are so excited to add Coach Vince to our Lady Ducks ranks this season. Over the last 20 years Vince has been playing, coaching and involved in every aspect of hockey development in the southland. From age 5 thru Bantam AAA level, Vince took his playing experience and has been working with young players to the high school level since 2010. Vince is a USAHockey Certified Level 4 coach and hockey director.
For years, dozens of Lady Ducks have already worked with Vince on skills and throughout the summers in hockey camps. He is excited to finally come to work with our teams on a full time basis! We look for a positive coaching environment, corrective instruction, and a competitive atmosphere for all players at this level, working to improve their game/team concepts.
