Ashley Marchant Commits to Chatham
The Lady Ducks would like to congratulate Lady Ducks 19AAA Defenseman Ashley Marchant on her commitment to play college hockey at Chatham University.
Ashley will head to Pittsburgh, PA to join the Cougars this fall. We wish you the best of luck and can't wait to follow your collegiate career!
There were various things that drew Ashley to Chatham, but it came down to being the place that felt just right to her.
"I chose Chatham as the home for my next four years because I felt that not only the academic environment but the opportunity to play hockey was the best for me. I went in to visiting the school with not the most open mind due to the fact that I always saw myself attending college in the Northeast and to me Pittsburgh wasn’t quite in that area of location, but when I did see campus and I got to sit in on a class I really felt at home and it surprised me. I never believed in this idea of the “aha” moment when you see a college fit for you, but that is exactly how I felt and to this day I can’t even quite explain it."
